Tencent’s announcement, PUBG Mobile servers and services shutting down today

PUBG MOBILE servers in India will be shut down today, i.e. 30th October 2020, company announced. Already banned on Google Play Store and Apple iOS App Store, now Tencent decides to terminate servers too.

With Halloween’s spooky theme, PUBG servers and services bid farewell to its huge Indian fan-base. Exciting yet short journey of almost 2 and half years, this mobile battle royal received huge amount of following. Either be it a child or adult, almost everyone gained their interest in this game, survival a chance or not? Trying to find out.

Globally released on February 9th, 2018, this game easily turned into ESL game. People finding teammates to go for good campaign whole night long, or trying to pass their time while waiting for their teacher/ faculties to show up. Crying out to revive or calling out which map to play, now this won’t be witnessed anytime soon.

Although, users could no longer download it from Indian Google Play Store or the Apple iOS App Store, as following orders from Ministry of Electronics and  Information Technology dated September 2, 2020, those who already had it were in some cases playing the games. With the PUBG India servers shutting down, its going to be quite complicated for players to play the game in India. But is it the end ? Not quite sure, because for techies it’s merely an issue of ping as some might use VPN or Proxy servers to bypass the restrictions, yet its not a suggested method.

“Protecting user data has always been a top priority and we have always complied with applicable data protection laws and regulations in India. All users’ gameplay information is processed in a transparent manner as disclosed in our privacy policy. We deeply regret this outcome, and sincerely thank you for your support and love for PUBG MOBILE in India,”

Tencent wrote on their Facebook page.

PUBG mobile is a battle royal genre game with some more game modes like team deathmatch, and free for all modes. There are many games following same trend:

  • Call of Duty: Mobile
  • Fortnite
  • Battlelands Royal

Players might miss their beloved game, PUBG, yet its not the end as you can still play its PC/ Console version which is available in steam for PC, and Xbox Games store and PlayStation Store for respective consoles Xbox One, PlayStation4.

A gamer eventually bounces to a new start and adapts the mode. If you are gaming enthusiast and still trying to forget your ex, PUBG mobile, and trying to find a new game to set mood, try out VALORANT. We have covered that too with the link below:
