Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War announcement , another hard disk eater

With all the awaited games being delayed this year, craving for action packed new titles increases even more. With fans waiting for their ‘new meal’,it just seems that every news related to new games is just increasing the hunger even more.

One of the leading franchise from Activision, Call Of Duty, which has been through crest and trough. Yet has successfully maintained its fan base, by introducing something new every time they bring in their new big guns. Yes, there are failed titles, but who doesn’t have it. With a long runner like Call of Duty, serving their fans since 2003, having a failed title or few, is obvious.

Activision’s recently revealed full PC requirements and specifications for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, its real heavy game.

Although for multiplayer fans, who don’t care where the story/ singleplayer is going, will just need around 50GB for multiplayer. Full game installation will require upto 175 GB. 175GB! that’s quite a lot to take in. And if you go for 4k textures, hold up, its 250GB. Yes, it means 250 GB SSD won’t be enough for this game.

Apart from this enormous storage requirement, Activision also recommends Nvidia’s RTX 3080 graphics card in order to enjoy this HDD EATER GAME at 4k ultra settings and ray tracing or RTX 3070 for ray tracing in general.

However, this game can be enjoyed at moderate specifications like 8GB (minimum), and entry level configurations like GTX 1650/ RADEON HD 7950. Players will only be able to feel what this game provides, the real beauty will yet be far away.

Activision is yet to reveal this game’s connections with consoles. Same space requirements for console isn’t expected, but given storage requirements of the latest game COD: Modern Warfare, these PC specifications look a bit overdo.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, infamous for its size. Recently received a patch update which reduced the game size from 220GB to less than 170GB. Hopefully, Black Ops Cold War will also undergo something similar.

The game is set to be released on 13th November 2020. Game can be per-ordered from official Activision site.
